About 900 professionals and representatives of business, administration, organizations and institutions in the world of telecommunications and information technology came together on February 18 at the Auditorium of Barcelona in the course of which he is the first major meeting of the year in the ICT sector, just a few days of Mobile World Congress.
L’AQPE gave it to attendees brochures from PEQ certification detailing own specific certification of professional telecommunications engineering and computer science fields.
The “Associació Catalana d’Ingeniers de Telecomunicació” (Telecos.cat) and “el Col·legi Oficial de Ingenieria en Informàtica de Catalunya” (COEINF) came back to jointly organize the Telecommunications Night and IT, which was chaired by Neus Munté, Consellera de la Presidencia de la Generalitat, which also was attended, among other authorities, the “Consellera de Gobernació”, Meritxell Borràs, and the “Conseller d’Empresa i Coneixement”, Jordi Baiget.
During his closing speech-and after delivery of the Salvà i Campillo Awards, Alan Turing and the Honor Award Night, the head of the Department of Presidency, made an explicit recognition of the IT sector, which includes more than 80,000 people throughout Catalonia as one of the sectors that contributed most to mitigate the effects of the crisis, creating jobs in recent years.
The 21st Night which took the journalist Gina Tost as Mistress of Ceremonies (who used to claim several examples the relevance of women in the world of science and technology), started with the official opening by Pedro Linares, Telecos.cat president, and Mingo Olmos, dean of COEINF. Both wanted to show the potential of Barcelona worldwide in the world of IT and the transverse role of technology in improving our lives.
The final cocktail served as stage for an intense session of networking between the nearly 900 assistants to the 21st edition of this great gathering of IT sector in the country.
